Composition
Each tablet contains:
Chlorphenoxamine hydrochloride ........................................................ 20 mg
Therapeutic Indications
Hay fever, vasomotor rhinitis, urticaria, serum sickness, angioneurotic oedema, pruritus ani, pruritus vulvae, contact dermatitis, and insect bites.
Dosage and Administration
1-2 tablets 2-3 times daily.
Contraindications
Like other antihistaminics with anticholinergic properties, ALLERGEX should not be given to patients with glaucoma or prostatic enlargement.
Precautions
As with other antihistaminics, ALLERGEX may cause drowsiness, therefore people in charge of vehicles or machinery should be cautioned accordingly.
ALLERGEX may enhance the sedative effects of central nervous system depressants including barbiturates, hypnotics, narcotic analgesics, sedatives and tranquilizers.
Undersirable Effects
Particularly sensitive patients may experience drowsiness, lassitude, dizziness, blurred vision or dryness of mouth.
Parmacological Properties
ALLERGEX is an antihistaminic with sedative as well as anticholinergic properties.
ALLERGEX provides symptomatic relief of allergic conditions and pruritic skin disorders; its effect starts within 30 minutes and lasts for several hours.
