Dr. Olfat Ghorab: Acdima supports the state in maintaining a permanent availability of medicine to the citizens.
Dr. Ahmed Kelani: EIPICO Starts establishment of EIPICO 3 factory , for Biologicals & Biosimilars , it will be the one in kind in MENA region.
“ The Egyptian medicine had an excellent worldwide reputation, that supports penetrating new foreign markets for export , which also can be increased through acquisition of pharmaceutical companies In these markets " Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health and Population stated while visiting EIPICO Pharmaceutical Company’s factories - the largest ACDIMA pharmaceutical companies, where he was received by Dr. Olfat Ghorab Chairman of ACDIMA and Dr. Ahmed Kelani Chairman and Managing Director of EIPICO Pharmaceutical Company.
" It the time to link the scientific research with pharmaceutical industry, to develop current medicines or innovate new ones , In other hand we need to maximize cooperation between pharmaceutical companies and technological universities to provide qualified and well trained technicians, who are able to use the modern technology of the pharmaceutical industry, based on actual and specific professional needs and the specifications of pharmaceutical companies, In addition to cooperation between the drug companies, colleges of pharmacy and research centres , providing their laboratories with modern equipment, urged collaboration between the Science and Technological Development Fund and ACDIMA’s Award for the Best Scientific Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences. "
He added,
" Investment in the economic zone of the Suez Canal is a top state priority and supported by all governmental authorities" Dr Abdelghaffar concluded .
Dr. Olfat Ghorab said " ACDIMA and its companies support the state with full force in maintaining permanent availability of medicine to citizens, and we cooperate with the state in providing medicines of a temporary shortage" .
We are No. 1 to produce and provide medicines in the Egyptian market., ACDIMA companies have provided all the medicines used in the treatment protocols for Covid-19. Also, we have strongly contributed in providing medicine for all presidential initiatives in the field of health care"
she added,
ACDIMA contributes 55% of the capital of the new the project for the production of primary raw materials API that will be extremely vital for the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt & Arab countries , EIPICO contributes with us by 25%, thids project’s investments is more than 2 billion EGP, over an area of 75,000 square meters in the investment zone of the Suez Canal." Dr. Olfat stated
Dr. Ahmed Kelani said that " EIPICO is No 1 in the production of medicine, with more than 3400 million EGP , more than 300 million unit , last year the per capita share of ACDIMA medicines was 6 units per year, 3 of them were of EIPICO" ,
He added ,
" We broke into a new field in the production of medicine by starting establishing EIPICO 3 factory for manufacturing Biologicals & Biosimllars medicines , we have already pumped 311 EGP million invests in this project during the past two years, in which the preparations will be produced for the first time in Egypt and the Middle East completely with genetically modified cells and the use of tissue culture techniques (Upstream) To urge cells to produce the required proteins and purify the produced proteins (Downstream) until the desired active ingredient Is produced and followed by pharmaceutical manufacturing of the active ingredient to reach the (Formulation) of final product that will be available in several forms, including vials, ready-to-fill syringes, cartridges and pens Providing this general quality of medicine will lift a heavy burden on the state and citizens to provide these medicines and create job opportunities for specialists in this field in Egypt.
" EIPICO is the No. 1 in exporting in 2021 , we exported about 25% of the total Egyptian medicine exports abroad to about 70 countries, with a value of 48 million dollars, Also we started the actual cooperation to develop technical education to create trained and qualified technicians to work in the pharmaceutical industries" Dr. Kelani stated.
" We provide more than 20% of the needs of the Unified Purchase Authority UPA , of medicines due to the outstanding quality of our products with reasonable prices, Also in the past 3 years, we have developed & renewed 60% of the capabilities of EIPICO, whether in production departments, production areas & lines , service utilities , etc., and we are keep on this track , Moreover, We managed to reserve and maintain a safe stock of medicines and raw materials as a result of the tense regional and international situations, that affect the supply chains and the foreign exchange rates" Dr. Kelani concluded .
